Were all equal

This week for Play, Make, Create we listen to We are all equal, it's a story about whether your big or small they have their advantages.

I made a design to help the snake get up the tree and made it out of lego.

I worked by myself to complete this task.

What worked well was how it stood up small structure.

I would change it to card because it wouldn't stick to the ground.

Whetu Challenge

Today we did Whetu Challenge we made another newspaper tower and this time way more successful than the last one we came SECOND!

I worked with Cody, Charlie, and Ethan to complete this tower.

What worked well was the group because we just got stuck into it as a team with no arguments.

What I would change is sticking the newspaper sticks into much because then we might have won.

We were seven centimeters from winning we were so close.

I would change the pastel to fellets because I think it would cover the holes

Kite day

For Whetu Challenge we made kites and the whole school made one.

I worked alongside Cohen to complete this task.

We used Bamboo, tape, scissors, string, and a fishing line.

The hardest part was tying everything together with the string and the fishing line.

Christian NumBots & TTRockstars Blog Post

Term 2, Week 1 2021

During Term 1 we have been practicing our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online program called NumBots.  At the start, it was super easy but progressively got more challenging.

I am now on Diamond level and I have finished all the challenging levels of NumBots.

I enjoy NumBots because it has been challenging my brain in addition and subtraction.

What I find challenging is getting past the last few levels because I’m not that good at adding up coins.

This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online program which helps us to learn our timetables.

I think that TTRockstars will be challenging because I will have to try and get faster at my division and times tables.

Whetu fun day reflection.

  Whetu Fun Day

Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch, and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block.

My favorite part of the Amazing Race was netball because I scored four points, and the aim was to get ten points.

The rotation I enjoyed the most was team games because we had to find the bean bags under cones. My team was Darius, Lachie, Franklin.

During the Easter Egg Hunt, I found my stick beside a newly planted tree. And I had to dive on it to get it.

My favorite part of the day was free play because we played touch. And I was Superman because I leaped to get a trie but they touched me before I put it and the ground.

Maths's mystery

Today we did a maths mystery about athletics, and I worked with Johan to solve the crime.
And the culprit was Mollie and the most challenging the coordinates because we didn't see the second row.
The easiest question was the maths one because I'm good at maths.

Play make create.

Today we did Play make create and I worked with Lachie and Darius.

We made a tent and a river we made it out of, Card, water, popsicle sticks, and a cone to transfer the water to the river and the popsicle sticks held up the card and we got a plastic pole to dig up the river and then we put the card in the hole so the dirt wouldn't soak up the water, and the card would soak it and then the card was soaked and then we put more water on and it didn't soak it up.

Play Make Create

This week for the play make create we did it about Giraffe's can't dance.

We made Gerald eating the leaves made of real leaves and real sticks, and the sticks

were hot glued on and the leaves were PVA glued on.

I worked with Sol and Noah to complete this task.

The longest thing that took was hot glueing because the hot glue gun had to heat up.

The easiest thing to do was PVAing the leaves on and we used a butter box to put the PVA glue on.

PLAY MAKE CREATE

Today we did Play, Make, Create and we created a bridge for the mouse from the Gruffalo.

And I did it with Lachie, Darius, Brooklyn, and Danny.

The most challenging thing was making it stable but then we improved it.

The most fun thing was walking across the bridge because it felt nice and safe.

In reading this week we have read about the magic finger about a girl called Girl and she tries to stop the Gregs from hunting but the Gregs just laugh and she points the magic finger

Blog post of the week

 Week 4, Term 1, 2021

The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week is Takaro

because we played touch rugby and won.

We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Mrs. Kennedy.

Our art is going to be shapes in landscapes because I really like landscapes.

We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look

amazing and my mum came in to help and talk with the teachers.

Next week we have our school swimming sports.

I am feeling excited because I really like swimming.

Week 3, Term 1, 2021

Someone who has helped me with my learning this year is Lachie because he tried to put my avatar on my blog but it didn’t work.

The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time is the new learning activity Numbots.

The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunchtime this year is playing Ball Tigi on the Big blue.

One word that describes learning in Whetu is Fun!!

Something I am looking forward to is because I am quite good at it athletics.

Were all equal
